Hey there, beautiful couples!  Today’s Tuesday Tip takes a look at that gorgeous ring on your hand.  ✨

You took that awesome ring selfie the day he proposed and you keep your nails perfectly manicured, by now your engagement ring is starting to feel like a part of you. You almost forget it’s there! You might even forget to have it professionally cleaned before your engagement portraits or wedding photography. But no worries – here I share my tested methods for cleaning your engagement ring to have it sparkling for its’ close up.

1-You will need a very soft bristled tooth brush (an old worn out one works best), a toothpick, dish detergent (not one with moisturizer), hot water, a soft, lint free cloth and a small dish for soaking.

  1. Soak the ring in a mixture of warm water and mild dish detergent for up to 30 minutes to loosen up lotion, body oils and any other residue.
  2. Gently brush it with the toothbrush to brush away any dirt and debris that has become lodged between stone(s) and the setting. If there is extra dirt or debris caught in the setting, carefully poke it out with a tooth pick.
  3. Stop up the sink!! -SUPER IMPORTANT -Then, carefully rinse the ring in warm water. Or better yet, to be safe, rinse in another bowl of warm water.
  4. Gently dry with a soft cotton cloth to avoid mild scratches or pieces of lint.

2- My personal favorite and the method I use for my own ring.  You will need an electric toothbrush, any type of plain tooth paste, a soft, lint free cloth, and hot running water.

  1.  Apply a small amount of tooth paste to the top of your engagement ring.
  2. Wet the toothbrush with hot water.
  3. Stop up the sink. -SUPER IMPORTANT-
  4. Gently run the vibrating tooth brush in and around the setting of your engagement ring, paying close attention to any crevices.
  5. Continuing to run the toothbrush around the setting, run the ring and brush under hot water.
  6. Gently dry with a soft cotton cloth.

Voila!!  ✨

Note::  Don’t forget to take it for a professional cleaning a couple of times a year and have it inspected to be sure any stones aren’t loose.  Now, leave it to us to focus on all the sparkly bling and capture your ring on a day you will always remember.
