When to Schedule Engagement Photos | Annabelle + Ivy, Williamsburg Engagement Photographer

Hii!  And, Happy Friday!

It is engagement season!  Yes!  That is a real thing.  If you follow any wedding professional on social media, there is no doubt that since Thanksgiving you have heard the words “engagement season” a few times.  That’s because the most recent statistics show that 41% of the year’s engagements occurred between the Thanksgiving holiday and Valentine’s Day.  Wow!!  And, you know that makes my heart SO happy!!  My 2020 wedding calendar is just about full and 2021 is filling up.  I’ve had a blast getting to know the super cool people that I get to photograph over the next two years and I seriously get SUPER excited each time I find a new inquiry in my email inbox. 💕

Sooo- Congratulations, if you are engaged! 💍 Or, if you’re a planner like me, you might be preparing ahead of time for when he pops that special question! Before you go full steam ahead on all of your wedding planning, let’s chat engagement pictures.

That’s right – it’s a question I am asked frequently, and when I recently polled brides for questions they had surrounding wedding planning, it came up more than once! The fact is these important portraits are often overlooked until later in the wedding timeline process. But the sooner you do them, the most mileage you will get out of them – you can get them done early enough that you can even use them to officially ANNOUNCE your engagement to family and on social media. After that, there are so many uses; your wedding website, save the date cards or magnets, your announcement in the newspaper, even personalized items at your wedding.

Engagement portraits are important. Not only are they images you will use throughout the months leading up to your wedding – they are an opportunity to get comfortable in front of the camera, to get to know your photographer, and to capture this very short special time when you are head over heels in love and planning the rest of your lives together.

I believe SO much in the importance of having your engagement portraits done by your wedding photographer that every single one of my wedding collections includes your engagement session.  Yesss!  I promise a great time during your engagement session and some fun stories that will be part of your wedding experience.

The best time to schedule engagement portraits: NOW.  Contact me and let’s pick a season, location, and feel for your engagement portraits.

But, for now… check out this super cute proposal!  Planning to pop the question??  I would love to capture your proposal ❤️
