Hello, hello and Happy Friday! It has been a busy week editing photos and gearing up for my favorite coastal wedding show, the Outer Banks Wedding Expo. If you’re attending, drop me a message so I can look out for you. I only have a couple of spots left on my 2020 calendar for coastal weddings and still several weekends available for 2021!
Today I am sharing something the stylist in me just LOVES, wedding dress trends.
The Edgy Bride
Recent years may have been inspired by Royal Weddings, but 2020 sees the emergence of the gorgeous bride with a dose of attitude. We’ve seen it in the form of a short hemline and especially in tough accessories, like this biker bride with a definite wild and free attitude.
Modern Lace
Lace? Of course lace comes to mind when you think of a wedding dress, but we are seeing cool lace options that don’t feel stuffy. Lace for every kind of wedding, casual, coastal, and farm weddings. Like this gorgeous BHLDN dress from Chanlar’s Boho Farm wedding.
Sheer and Chic
Floor length and sophisticated with sheer details on top – I love the new look brides are wearing when they add the optical illusion of sheer fabric to their dresses, like Kristi’s beautiful dress with gorgeous sheer floral details on the bodice.
Fuller Coverage
Even a mid-summer wedding dress can have long sleeves when they’re styled right. Perhaps a remnant from the “Duchess effect” and conservative royal weddings, we’re still seeing modern brides choosing higher necklines and longer sleeves.
Ethereal Vibes
Your wedding day should be a fairytale after all! Light, delicate and almost too beautiful for this world, ethereal dresses are having a moment right now.
Now tell me, what dress are you dreaming of wearing? I can’t wait to photograph it on your big day!
Happy Wedding Planning, friends!
With Grit & Grace~
