Marissa & Steve | Real Wedding Photography | Williamsburg Photographer

Hello, hello!  And, happy awesome #weddingwednesday to everyone!  I am excited to share my Wednesday Westland Farms Studios Blogs that will focus on some Real Weddings I have shot over the past 10 years.  The images will be watermarked with my company website that is based out of the Outer Banks.  I have come to learn that many of you are lovers of the OBX, just link we are.  Hopefully you will see some familiar places.  If nothing else, enjoy the beautiful setting for the gorgeous weddings!
Let’s Kick off Westland Farms Studio’s Wedding Wednesday’s Real Wedding blogs with a Summer 2015 Real Weddings:

Congratulations, Marissa & Steve!

Marissa and Steve’s Outer Banks Wedding is the perfect example of what happens when vendors are chosen that know the industry forward and backward!  The team of folks for this day was outstanding, and the perfection that came with those choices shine and shines!!  I said perfection… And, I really meant it!  The day was perfect (really!), blue skies not too hot, light breeze.  We began our day in Pirate’s Cove, Manteo, NC.   Marissa, Steve, and their friends and family we busily preparing for their incredible day.  These two were awesome… And, I mean awesome.

After busy preparations, we were off to the Waterfront Gazebo to officially tie the knot.  We all hope for sunshine on wedding days, but sometimes you just catch a shower (they say that’s good luck, you know?!). Marissa and Steve were just trying to settle their excited hearts before the ceremony when rumor of rain rumbled in.  The pop-up shower came out of nowhere…

Thankfully, our team always keeps an eye out for weather and was able to spot this storm in just enough time to warn the congregated friends and family of the impending drizzle. We say drizzle, but after our team, some heroic musicians, and several wonderful wedding-goers (all of whom spent the rest of the fantastic evening a little soggy…lol) helped get the congregation and anything else that didn’t like rain inside, an epic storm broke.

For about fifteen minutes rain pelted the beautiful Outer-Banks. After a little debate and concern over another pop-up storm, we decided to take the celebration back outside.   And, before you could even say ‘downpour’ everyone was back outside enjoying the beautiful ceremony. And the silver lining, quite literally, to this sudden storm was the dramatic skies left behind and a stunning rainbow making the happy couples’ wedding photos extra special.

We met Marissa and Steve in January 2015, two globe-trekkers brought together by their love of traveling. They wanted a reception to reflect this and put together some super cool wedding details for their guests. A globe to sign instead of a guest book and a gift of an atlas greeted each guest to arrive, the first part of a reception that just got better. A fabulous feast was prepared by Manteo’s Avenue Grill and a jaw dropping triple tiered cake by Icing on the Cake took centre stage for dessert. Everyone was filled up to the corners in the best fashion by the time the dancing began.

It was a uniquely wonderful occasion that all swirled around a truly lovely couple who kept their cool even in the heart of the storm. Thank you for letting us be part of your day, Mr and Mrs Cloutier.

Remember that living fearlessly takes practice.  But, together, we’ve got this!
