Hey, hey and happy Tuesday! I am back to answer a question from 2020 Bride Ashley – “Is having a wedding coordinator the day of your wedding a ‘need’ or a ‘want’?”
The short answer, Ashley, is that a Day of Coordinator is absolutely a need. But, more importantly, here is why.
Weddings have moving parts. And, often, lots of them! Minimally, friends, we are typically organizing a ceremony and reception venue, a florist & designer, photographers, a bakery, a team of caterers, and musicians or a DJ. But, quite possibly you are including specialty services such as a photo booth, live painter, or sno cone truck, bar attendants, videographers, pets and pet sitters, child care, and transportation. And, I haven’t even begun the discussion on bridal party, family, and children attendants. It is SO much FUN! But, there is SO MUCH to keep up with. Can you and your tribe plan this awesome event? Like a wiz! But, you don’t want to have to run the show on the day of your wedding…your wedding!
Consider that this is the only time in your life that you will be planning this size and caliber event – you really do not want to leave room for something to go wrong or the headache of personally chasing down your DJ that cannot find the reception location. Having the hands, eyes, ears, and organizational skill of an experienced day-of-wedding coordinator is like purchasing a box full of peace-of-mind. And, nothing beats calm peace-of-mind on your most special day.
Not only will a coordinator make sure everything runs flawlessly and your other wedding vendors are informed and on schedule – you will 100% not have to worry about all of the little details. If you speak with brides about the value of having a Day of Coordinator on their wedding day they will tell you – there is no price you can put on being able to be fully present on this major day as you begin your life with your new spouse.
You deserve to have the time and space to wholly appreciate and enjoy your family and friends whom traveled to see you on this day. Now having said alllllll of that, if it is simply not it in your budget or you are unable to book a “day of” coordinator – please work with your photographer (me!) and your DJ on the timeline for the day. I have scheduled 100’s of wedding timelines and am always willing to share advice on what works best on a wedding day. Then make certain you have a dedicated individual to help carry-out the timeline we put together.
Happy Planning! And, if you haven’t already booked your wedding – contact me so we can get your date on the books and start planning your engagement shoot! 2020 is about full 💕
