Photography as We Navigate Covid | Annabelle + Ivy, Williamsburg Photographer

Happy, Happy May, friends!

My soul is full of excitable energy this week as we enter my favorite season of the year.  Historically, for me, May is a glorious month, bringing warmer weather, beautiful flowers, veggies in my garden, dinner from the grill and s’mores over the fire pit.  May celebrates Mother’s Day, the celebration of another school year completed, and a jump into Family Portraits and Wedding Season.  But, the adventure into May 2020 is a little different.

Acknowledging Blessing

Like each of you, the normals are not at all normal.  Celebrations have been quieter.  And, my work season has been delayed or cancelled entirely.  What a curious place to be.  I have cried so many tears with my brides over their wedding plans.  I have stressed with my children as they have missed big events, delayed their opportunity to get their driver’s license, and celebrated birthdays over Zoom with friends and family.  I have worried how life will move forward financially, emotionally, and in some ways physically.  My emotions, like yours, have run the gamut.

But, I must share with you that through all of this abnormality I have found over and over again the celebration of life, family, and friendship.  Forced into a slowed mode of being, our family has reconnected in places I really had no idea we had grown away from.  My children have enjoyed playing with one another…and, only one another.  We have reconnected a bit with planet earth and the gifts and energy sources offered to us by this gorgeous ground we live on.  And, there has been time to chat and laugh with friends that I rarely have made time to check in on…some for over 20 years.  To say that I feel blessed through this devastation is an understatement.

So, Now What?

In many places, life outside our homes is taking small steps toward new normals.  In our area restaurants, churches, salons, daycare facilities, and gyms have begun the process of opening their doors again.  It is a very scary time for many of us.  So many questions on public safety and what is too much, too fast.  But, I feel confident that in this environment we are safe to begin scheduling photography sessions under some new rules.

We all have a role in protecting one another.  And, that is our first priority.  So, what types of photography am I scheduling right now?  Great Question.

Booking Now & Specials Coming

Spring is filling up quickly. And as I have adjusted to this extra time we have all shared with our families, I am prioritizing life a little differently.  I anticipate out time together to be personal, fun, and a little magical.  Specials releasing for just about every type of session I photograph over the next month.  Stay tuned and please call me to set-up your photography session.  Making memories, creating keepsakes is a forever business and I’m excited to serve you as we all move forward together.
