Hi there!
It wasn’t that long ago that a fellow photographer actually stopped me in the middle of a wedding and encouraged me to lower my f-stop to create brighter images in a darker setting. I thought, “Oh, heck no!” I was so anxious about not getting my subject in focus. But the conversation did lead me to continue to think about how I manually use my settings.
It wasn’t long after that conversation that I began practicing at a low f-stop setting… and let me tell you that there are very few situations that I photograph now when I do not shoot at my lowest f-stop setting.
And this has changed my final product 10 fold.
Today’s Tuesday Tip: Don’t be afraid of that awesome setting! Get out and practice with it, change it both up and down, combine it with movement in your other settings, and see what you can create.
Understanding your manual controls gives you free rein and the ability to create on your terms. ❤️
We’ve got this!
