Okay, friends. I hear you. This one sounds like a no-brainer. But you might be surprised how often creatives struggle with this definition of self — including me!
As your skill set and knowledge of your gear, posing, direction, and emotional intelligence grows, your next step is to establish the style that will separate you from your colleagues. Now, mind you, I did not say make you more noticeable or draw the biggest set of online followers… because that is not your first goal.
❤️❤️❤️
Establishing your style is one of the biggest influences on your imagery and what ultimately makes your work different from others. Style is not a “better than” or “worse than” comparison between creatives, but rather a comparison of what draws from you and your vision for others.
As you start noticing style, you will see that as you scroll through social media you can tell what image was taken by which photographer or what painting was painted by which artist. Not better or worse.
Just stylistically different.
It is your style that becomes your brand.
And, don’t worry about nailing it all at once. Style is always evolving.
We’ve got this!
