Tuesday Tip:: Photography Mentor | Make a Shot List

Hey y’all!
Developing the “you” in your photography work is not an overnight process.  In fact, I’ve been doing this professionally for almost 15 years and I am still honing in what differentiates my work from all of you awesome creatives out there.

With every single session that I photograph then edit, I am a critical eye on what I love and what I wish I had done a little differently.  The criticisms have changed over the years and become far more nit-picky.  But, the self awareness is always important.

One of the best ways to curate your style, your “you” is to make a shot list of images and places that you would like to photograph.  Keep a small notebook to jot down your list or keep a Note in your phone. Make sure to note any important details, like the lighting, so you can come back at the same time of day or when the weather’s right.

Working in new places and under different conditions will help hone-in the look you are wanting to adopt as your photography style.
