Tuesday Tip: Williamsburg Photography Mentor | Open to Constructive Criticism

This is a tricky topic, right?  It is tricky because there IS a difference between criticism and constructive criticism.  But, it is super easy to fall into the habit of listening to and consuming both…. = unhealthy.

Here is a thought as we continually grow our skill set and businesses:: As challenging as it might be, join photography groups online::  Blogs, Facebook, etc.  Put your work out there and ask for constructive criticism.  Listen open-mindedly, looking at both your work and what your peers are suggesting as pathways for growth.  And, adjust as your instinct and style allow for.

And, when you get that one rotten apple that just can’t be constructiveToss it out.  What doesn’t help us as a community, doesn’t help.
