Friends, I’ve been doing this whole professional photography for a while, and I can guarantee that I still get nervous before every single session. Over time, that anxiety has gone transformed from a negative to an energy that helps propel my creativity. In fact, I think being a little anxious or nervous is pretty healthy… It keeps us on our toes! Right?! But, here is where things can get a little mucked up. There was a time that while I was thinking through posing or rearranging a couple that I would get anxious that I was taking so long that my client was losing confidence in me. Oftentimes, I would lose focus and walk away with images that were just mediocre. And, that’s a bummer.
For everyone.
What I have learned is that taking your time to create the right posing, body language, and framing does not dilute your session. It creates images that are better quality and clients that are returning clients.
✨ The lesson for me: Slow down. Take your time.✨
Talk to your clients while you are reposing, explain what you’re seeing. People are good, friends.
They want you to succeed. And, they want what your vision brings to their images.
Got get it! We’ve Got This!
