Gaining awesome content is a huge perk of a styled session. But one of the most beautiful parts of participating in a styled shoot is the ability to share ideas, learn from others, and pass on the tips I’ve acquired over my photography career.
A styled session allows you to:
1. Practice and grow your skillset without the pressure of a paying client, creating an environment of untimed creativity and freedom for new things.
2. Get to know your equipment and push the limits of your comfort zone. So, go ahead — lower the F-stop and add some off-camera lighting. ✨
3. Learn from other photographers! In my experience, the sessions tend to draw all levels of experience. Meet new colleagues and don’t be afraid to ask questions. The more you ask, the more you learn!
4. Connect with other vendors. Meeting a coordinator, florist, hair and makeup artist, or boutique owner you have never met is a great opportunity. Gaining relationships and trust within your industry is huge. So, make that connection and don’t forget to share your images with them. 🤗
